If you or your child has been diagnosed with a "lazy eye" probably the first treatment recommended was using a patch to cover the "stronger" eye to force the weaker eye to work.  This approach messes up the eye-hand coordination and depth perception; and while this treatment can be helpful, most children hate doing this.  Imagine trying to do homework, color pictures, or even eat when every thing is blurry.

The good news is that there are other treatment options that actually don't require patching and can be even more effective.

Optometric Vision Therapy not only improves the vision in a "lazy eye" but it also improves depth perception, eye-hand coordination, and visual information processing skills (which improve reading and school performance).

Please call out patient care coordinator to schedule an appointment with Dr. Dresely to evaluate your child's lazy eye and to determine your best treatment options:  703-657-3245.
